Hi!
Welcome to the What To Do Website.
Travel is becoming ever more easy and the world ever smaller.
Whilst in many ways this is nice, the freedom of movement doesn’t come without its own problems. One of these is knowing what to do and where to go when you’re in a strange town or city.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve not known what to do, or worse, I’ve found out about something after I’ve left the area and thought “If only I’d known about that whilst I was there. I’d have done that”.
My hope is, that as this site develops, it will become one of the first port of call when someone sks “What should I do in the UK?”.
Now this will not happen overnight. The site only went live during 2010, and it takes at least a couple of years to get a good rating on Google. After all, thousands of new websites get registered every week and many of them never get touched after the first month or so and never get their registration renewed when the initial registration period end. Google doesn’t want to get its directory clogged up with all these sites that are ultimately going to disappear, so it gives extra weighting to sites that have been registered for more than two years.
Of course, if Google finds lots of new content on the site every time it visits, then it gives the site an extra weighting whatever the age of the site. That gives YOU an opportunity of helping us. If you have been to any of the places listed on the What To Do website why not add a comment under the entry every time you visit our site?
Similarly, if you have visited somewhere in the UK, or if you manage or are employed at a tourist attraction or other UK visitor attraction that isn’t listed on the website, just click on the ‘Advertise Free’ link at the top of the page and add it to the site.
Thank you.
