Three Star Category

Our three star category contains locations that we have assessed as outstanding examples within their categories.

We accept no payment for making *** recommendations, which are made by ‘mystery shoppers’ who visit premises un-announced as ordinary customers. In order to gain a three star status the location has to offer exceptional customer service, value and quality over and above that which would ordinarily be expected.

What sort of things lead us to give a three star rating?

We’ll give some examples:

  • We would expect all toilet facilities to be clean, but we’ve visited toilets that have fresh flowers in vases in them.  That would be exceptional.
  • In a cafe or restauraunt, we would expect to see tables cleaned quickly every time a customer leaves.  All too often we see the crumbs from a table wiped off the tables and on to the chairs.  We would expect to see tables AND chairs wiped down every time a customer leaves.  That would be exceptional.
  • In a cinema or theatre we would expect to have far more room between seats than you would find in an economy class aircraft. That would be exceptional.
  • In a dance hall, we all too often see chairs in a straight line around the hall.  We would expect to see chairs at tables so that customers could face one another when they talk and socialise together, and have somewhere to put their drinks down. That would be exceptional.

You get the idea?

There is the norm, and there is the exception.

We only provide the three star category for locations that we have personally visited, and that we have assessed as exceptional in every area.
